The unit comes preassembled and is of very solid build quality. The mount, while not incredibly heavy, feels solid and not like cheap lightweight metal. You can adjust the tension on all the joints if you like, but I actually didn't find it necessary - everything was pretensioned so that the joints were somewhat stiff but moveable, which is exactly what I wanted. Installation was very easy, though it turned out I didn't have a stud anywhere nearby my desk (lousy lying studfinder!!). So instead, against recommendations, I put in a couple of drywall anchors and attached the mount to the wall with two wood screws that I had (the included screws are very large). I was a bit worried about whether the anchors could handle the load, but after giving the mount a few tugs, I could feel that it wasn't going anywhere, particularly since my LCD is only 10 pounds. After attaching the mount to the wall, I put a couple of screws in the top threads on the back of my monitor, and then hung the monitor onto the LCD plate via the teardrop-shaped holes. I then tightened the screws and put the screws in the bottom holes as well. To finish up, I threaded the cables through the cable channels and replaced the plastic covers over the channels, which slide into place. Then I just adjusted the monitor by pulling it and turning it the way I wanted it. Note that one of the great features of this particular mount is that you can adjust the monitor not only to tilt forwards or backwards and side to side, but you can also rotate the monitor a minor amount clockwise or counterclockwise, in case you didn't install the mount perfectly level or, in my case, you installed the mount level but the floor/desk is not level. Good quality mount difficult tilt adjustment . The construction of the mount is good.. especially for the typically light 22" panels made today. The panel can be rotated to make it level once it's in place so it makes the installation much easier. Adjusting the tilt is another matter. They include a poor quality 5 mm allen wrench that cannot possible generate enough torque to loosen the tilt bolt. I have a Samsung 22" LCD and a tilt was required since it was installed in a bedroom. Before you frustrate yourself or strip the bolt, please use a torque bar instead with a 5 mm bit. It's pretty easy to hang the panel for one person since you can hang the top 2 screws into keyhole slots. Overall this is a nice mount especially at Amazon's price. I have to take off one star for the tilt adjustment since it is next to impossible with the provided tool. This step should be re-visited by the manufacturer since I'm guessing most people would like to adjust the tilt without too much hassle. The PA730 technical data sheet on the Peerless website refers to a one-touch tilt adjustment.. this is far from that. Excellent TV mount!!! . Got this last week and put it up the next day. Very easy to do and took less than 30 minutes. We needed one that had enough reach so that it would turn 90 degrees from the wall. This is very well constructed!
